Substitute English as a Foreign Language Teacher
We are looking to hire a substitute English as a Foreign Language teacher.
Your hours will fluctuate based on our needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a classroom of 12-20 adult English learners
- Teach pre-prepared lesson plans
- Prepare and teach your own lesson plans
- Be available to teach on short notice
- Have good communication skills
Qualifications:
You must have the following:
- A University Degree
- TESOL Qualification
- Verified true copies of original diplomas/certificates
- Minimum 2 years experience teaching in a LINC program or teaching English as a second language
Please note: if you hold a foreign university degree, an official equivalency statement or letter must be obtained (WES, ICES, IQAS, or WES Quick Evaluation service).

Financial Administrator – LINC Program
Job description:
- Daily tasks and responsibilities include: invoicing, payments, meetings with vendors, budgeting, cash flow forecast, IRCC reporting
- Annual Audits: IRCC audit (minimum twice per agreement), internal audit by independent accounting firm (annually)
- Ongoing tasks: business promotion, business development, meeting with IRCC program officer, using personal funds to cover LINC expenses while waiting for IRCC reimbursement, monthly claim and reporting, assisting with program where needed, technical support, liaison with staff/students/vendors to address any concerns, assist Program Manager with LINC coordinator tasks, review and revise narrative report, review iCare reports, review occupancy and enrolment with IRCC, payroll, timecards, and all other necessary tasks to support the LINC program.
- $15/hour 100 hours/month, 60 hours/month in-kind

Continuing Opportunities
Maple Leaf Academy accepts and welcomes practicum students who wish to teach adult students English proficiency using Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) protocol and grading in Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).
We charge a minimal fee.
